Modes of Memoirs We have read and interacted with 6 different formats of memoirs • Now that you have found a memory that will work for your memoir, it’s time to find which format or mode of writing you think will work best How this applies to you By reviewing the choices the authors’ made, and determining why, you will be better equipped to make the choice for your memoir Let’s examine the mentor texts….

  3. Things to think about… A story that is lighthearted might not work well as a screenplay unless you decide to make the stage direction very specific to pick up on the humor. A very dramatic story probably would not work well as a series of instant messages because its very difficult to show serious emotion in those.

  4. You need to… Choose 3 possible modes that you might write your memoir in… For each one, write 2-3 bullets to explain the reason for your decision By the end … There will be 3 options laid out for your so you can make a calculated decision **By now… the “Litmus Test” worksheet (from Selection 1) should be completed for 1 memory and the “Choosing a Mode for your Memoir” worksheet (from Selection 2)**
