Netherlands Platform for Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research Aim: Better linking policy, practice and research to support strengthening health systems globally Tasks: • Advising on international health policy and systems issues • Strengthening global health policy and health systems research • Promoting access to research results • Promoting national and international links and collaboration

Netherlands Platform for Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research 20 members from: • Academic and non-academic research institutes • Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health • Non-governmental and development organizations • WOTRO Science for Global Development www.globalhealthplatform.nl

Main Activities • Development of a research programme on “global health policy and health systems”, and partner in implementation • Policy advise to MoFA and MoH, e.g. “fragile states & health”, “role of the EU in global health” • Inventory of global health, systems & research budget in NL • Inventory of global health systems research capacity in NL • Various discussion and dissemination meetings • Active partner in international network and meetings related to global health policy and health systems

  5. Position in “Bestuurlijk Nederland“ Independent Financed by MoFA, MoH, NWO/WOTRO and member organizations Housed by NWO/WOTRO Recognized by MoFA as so-called “knowledge circle” 2010 year of formal evaluation and planning for the future
