  2. The Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims. In Arabic, Umrah means “to visit a populated place”. Unlike the better known Hajj pilgrimage,

  3. Umrah can be carried out at any time of the year.  Umrah is sometimes called the “minor pilgrimage” of Islam, Hajj being the “greatest” pilgrimage. Unlike Hajj, which is mandatory for non-disabled Muslims who can afford it, Umrah is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended.
