ART OF LISTENING Let us see an example of an OPTOMETRIST. Communication is the most important skill in life. We have spent years in learning how to write, read and speak. But what about LISTENING? - We all typically seek first to be understood. Most people do not listen with the intent to understand , but with the intent to reply. - They are either speaking or preparing to speak.
ART OF LISTENING If you want to interact effectively with others / influence others (your spouse, your child, your boss, your colleague and your customer) YOU FIRST NEED TO UNDERSTAND THEM i.e. YOU FIRST LISTEN TO THEIR PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTIONS with the intent to understand them.

Communication experts estimate that, our communication is represented 10% by words 30% by sounds 60% by our BODY LANGUAGE. In emphatic listening, we listen not only with ears, but also with our eyes and more importantly, with heart.
