  2. Paris, France(The city of Light) Paris: Paris is a favorite pastime of the French people. It is popular for the famous tower, Eiffel Tower. France capital is home to some of the most famous art work in history. It is also very known for the delicious cafés in France. It’s the most visited cities in the world.

  3. Population, National Language(s), average climate(weather patterns), foods, and music. Foods: The French has always been proud of there food and way of cooking. They provide fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, grains, and meat all year long. Louis XIV would hold 12 hour feasts with 10 different dishes served. The presentation was just as important as the taste and quality of the food. Music: French music is a variety of different music styles. It has for example, a bit of Latin America, Africa and Asian music. French Opera is also very well known. The first opera is thought to be Akébar roi du Mogol with the famous composer, Jean Baptiste Lully.

  4. Popular Holidays and events Holidays: The French has 11 national celebrated holidays(jours feriés). Bastille Day, Armistic Day, Labor Day, New Years Day, WWII Victory Day, Assuption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, All Saints Day, Christmas Day, 2nd Day of Christmas. During the month of May, almost every week is a holiday. Most of the stores and bakeries will be closed.

  5. Interesting historical information about your country such as famous places and people of the past. Famous People: Marie(1867-1934). Marie Curie was born in Poland and went to France in 1891 to study science. She met her husband Pierre while she was working as a laboratory assistant at the University of Sorbonne. They worked together to isolate 2 unknown radioactive elements, polonium and radium. She received the Nobel Physics prize in 1903. In 1910 she received her 2nd Nobel prize for helping find the cure for Cancer.
