  2. eACCR – Key Barriers Preliminary findings from the IT Readiness in Aged Care Survey indicated a number of key barriers to the adoption of eBusiness initiatives: • Communication and Change Management; • Leadership and Guidance; and • Training and Support.

  3. eACCR – Training and Support How do we overcome these barriers? • Effective training and support is crucial in helping to overcome other key barriers and facilitating the smooth transition from current paper based ACCR processes to eACCR processes.

  4. eACCR – Leadership and Guidance You are the nominated the eACCR Champion for your team! • You, as the nominated ACAT representative, will play a leadership role within your respective teams in relation to eACCR training and change management. • You will be provided with full support before, during and after the demonstration phase.

  5. eACCR – Training Approach What are the training and support activities planned for the eACCR project? • An eACCR workshop to set help set context and landscape; • The development and provision of eACCR system user manuals and guideline based training materials; • The delivery of eACCR system training by the EUs; • The delivery of training in new eACCR guidelines by the Department (inc. STOs) and ACAP Officials; and • The delivery of training in the Medicare Australia Online System and PKI by Medicare Australia.

  6. eACCR – Training Delivery? How do you wish for the training to be delivered? • Dedicated day for on-site system training and dedicated day for guideline training? • Concurrent system and guideline based on-site training sessions? • Regional sessions? • Other thoughts?

  7. eACCR – Training and Support What happens during the 12 week demonstration phase? • Any problems? Contact your EU in the first instance! • EUs to provide ACE eACCR system support. • Medicare Australia to provide Medicare Australia Online System and PKI support. • The Department (Assessment Section - Central Office) to provide program support. • Issues register to be maintained by the Department. • Regular contact via teleconferences.

  8. eACCR – Ongoing Training and Support What happens after the 12 week demonstration phase? • Participating ACATs will continue with the eACCR. • Ongoing support with the use of eACCR and the roll-out of the new processes and technology. • The eACCR evaluation will not only determine whether the eACCR is expanded across systems, jurisdictions and teams, but will also highlight possible improvements in eACCR training, support, processes and procedures.
