Last 3 monthsActions update from previous report • EcoCampus Gold- Ben and Wale presented at October ESM • Positive feedback from awareness week in October and OGEC launch • Review of web content and communications plan- developing as part of larger piece of work with interns • VAT return from British Gas- still outstanding • Voltage optimisation at SoM- Technical appraisal completed and order to be placed. • Building User Groups- as part of engagement/comms piece • Solar PVs on campus- now live • JBP Library CHP Project- 2 CHPs under consideration • Richmond Plant Room works- on-going • Annual report- Draft completed- needs finalising • Edd:e metering on fume cupboards- awaiting costs from Utility Wise • BMS installation to JBP Library- Phase 1 extension to be completed 20/12/13 • BMS moved to server based system- On-going, 10% gas reduction target • Emergency lighting and controls in JBPL- Phase 1 to be completed next quarter • Re-commissioning of Student Central vent- completed • On-going work with Council Additional notes • Green Gown Awards- JBP Library GLEE project won Facilities and Services category

Performance Pressure Points Gas pressure and G59 issues causing CHP engine to trip- up to 20 times in last month • Recalculated baseline in line with changes in DEFRA conversion factors • YTD: August-October • Gas YTD: 9% increase from 2005/6 • Electricity YTD: 42% decrease from 2005/6 • Water YTD: 30% decrease in water usage from 2009/10 • Waste YTD: Diversion from landfill 77.4% • Carbon YTD: 29% reduction in scope 1 and 2 carbon Successes JBP Library DEC rated B36 2 days in November (Sundays) where City Campus did not take any electricity from the grid- demand provided by CHP Scope 1&2 Carbon -29% 30% decrease in water 77.4% Diversion from landfill

Next 3 months • ISO50001- Energy Management System • Two projects lined up for interns starting Jan 14- Digital Media project and Future Engagement Research Project • EcoCampus Gold- Targeted for completion November 2014 • Feasibility study on biofuel CHP serving district heating • Finalise Annual Report • Re-align Carbon Management Plan with off-grid strategy • OGEC- 2014-15 model to be agreed • Individual Building Action Plans to be produced • Model future heat load of Richmond post-cladding • Performance against design evaluation of the Bright Building • Plant performance review at Emm Lane • Optimisation of CHP operation with target of 10% increased output • Student tour of CHP plant- School of Engineering
