Product Manager and Designer – camping accessories Salary – £30,000 Potential Route GCSE Product Design A Level Product Design Resistant Materials Design @ University Potential Route GCSE Hospitality NVQ Level 2 in Food and Drink Service, or Hospitality Service. Reporting to:- Head of Karrimor Main Role & responsibilities • Identify and develop new products to meet brand requirements across camping accessories and equipment• Design and develop tents, sleeping bags, cooking, hydration and backpacks• Produce detailed design/technical briefs• Understand costing and target price• Liaise with suppliers to develop products from concept to production• Graphic and packaging design to meet guidelines• Competitor analysis• Manage product imagery and editing for workbook and web• Ensure content accuracy of website and print• Understanding of IP protection• Represent the brand at international trade fairs• Possible travel to Far East This position suit someone who has good communication skills and is keen to work in a fast paced and challenging environment within on of the UK’s most rewarding companies. A flexible approach is essential. Product manager and designer – camping accessories The successful applicant will have a proven track record in the outdoor or sports industry. Ideally having previous experience in design of tents, sleeping bags and accessories. They must be creative with a good eye for detail and able to work on their own initiative. They will be CAD literate (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop knowledge preferred) and be able to illustrate their own ideas to produce detailed technical documents for briefing to factories. A hands-on approach from initial concept, prototyping, sample evaluation and feedback through to production is required. A keen interest in outdoor pursuits will be advantageous.
