  1. Popular Wood Blinds: Uses and Care

  2. All window coverings, including shades and even curtains, are inferior to blinds. The blind has movable louvres or slats on each side. As opposed to either open or closed, this enables you to finely regulate the quantity of light that enters your home. You have total control over the amount of light and privacy in your house whether you use wood blinds alone or in conjunction with drapes.

  3. How to select the best measurement of wood blinds for your window assemble the measuring equipment you will need, such as a tape measure, a pencil, and paper to write down your measurements. Make sure you have enough depth for an inside mount by measuring the window's depth. Although you should check with each manufacturer's specifications to be sure, most manufacturers want at least a 34" depth for blinds.

  4. In three different locations—the top, middle, and bottom—measure the width of the window opening on the inside. To the closest 1/8, round the numbers. Choose the smallest of the three numbers as the width of your window covering. At the right, center, and left sides of the window, take three measurements of the length of the opening. To the closest 1/8, round each number. To determine the length of wood, use the measurement that is the longest.

  5. Blinds are an effective instrument for limiting the amount of light that enters a room through the windows. Your blinds may operate differently based on the style you have. While continuous loop blinds widely used in Lexington use a connected piece of string to function, venetian and cellular blinds use single string systems. You can maximize the quantity of natural light in each area in your home by learning how to utilize the blinds!

  6. 1 Lower the blinds by pulling the ropes downward. Find the cords hanging from the top of the window. To raise the blinds, pull the strings downward. Pull steadily up the window until you reach the top or come to an appropriate stopping spot.

  7. 2 The blinds can be closed by 45-degree pulling on the thread. Start to relax your hold on the cord so that it may pass through your hand and the blinds can lower. Adjust the string so that it is perpendicular to the blinds once the blinds have been lowered to the desired level.

  8. 3 The slats can be changed by turning the dangling wand. To make the blind slats face upward, turn the wand in an anticlockwise direction. To position the slats at a lower angle, turn the wand clockwise. Turn the wand so that the slats are fully up or down to totally block any natural light from entering the room. Try out different settings on the wand until you find one you like.

  9. Summary A timeless window treatment preferred in Lexington; wood blinds come in a range of designs. When it comes to adding warmth and richness to a space, wooden blinds are unmatched. However, this beauty does have a cost.
