  3. Title • Give the item a descriptive title • Include as much information as possible • Include the names of buildings, etc.

  4. Date (year month dd) • Look at the buildings in the photo and consult the campus timeline to determine when buildings where opened, renovated, or demolished • Consider the outfits of the students in the photo • If the date of the photo can be narrowed to particular decade, use the “circa” qualifier (Ex: circa 1960) • If the photo is dated but the accuracy of the date is questionable, use the “probably” qualifier (Ex: probably 1938) • If you absolutely cannot figure out or approximate the date, then put “undated.”
