Talent Analytics and Human Resource Management How HR processes managed to get measured ? • From the first issue of the article ‘ Measurement imperative’ in 1978, Jac Fitz-enz - for collecting data from the bottom line of the business to measure- staff retention, staffing, compensation, competency development and others. • This progressed towardsBenchmarkingto mark the HR measurement data in various functions and lost importance at early 2000. • What failed first is resurrected as Moneyball as early as 2003, the metric-based selection model. Probably the first recorded event to evaluate workforce as human capital.

Talent Analytics and Human Resource Management The Firsts… The first analytics challenge booting HR processes was taken by Google the most data-rich organisation in the world. • First attempt was in 2002, which failed. • Until the launch of ‘Project Oxygen’ in 2006 which first brought ‘people analytics’ to the picture. • It became the first milestone which leveled-up traditional HR metrics to Predictive analytics • The project was a huge success which accelerated further research on new-fangled workforce management • Around 20 articles were published around the raging topic people analytics.

Talent Analytics and Human Resource Management Following the footsteps... ‘Project Oxygen’ was big hit in the HR word and organisations grouped in to enjoy the very essence of workforce a management- • Microsoft (in Tech Business) made use of HR analytics to curb HR attrition. • Mindtree (IT & Outsourcing) used it for making strategic decisions about; Employee Turnover, Risk assessment, Profile management & Productivity index. • ConAgra Brands (Food Company) deployed predictive analytics software to detect employee attrition rate. • Wipro Ltd. (Tech Services) uses combination of HR analytics & social media analytics to increase employee retention.
