When the jarrah logs were loaded they caused damage to the hull of the ship. Water started to fill the ship. The water put out the engine fires and caused the ship to drift. The crew tried to put the life boats over but the large waves came and smashed the life boats on rocks near by. The passengers used buckets to try to get water out of the SS Georgette. When she heard the news she got some ropes and got her horse and then set off with Sam. They rode their horses into the water and the passengers of the Georgette grabbed onto anything they could and Grace rode back to shore and continued this until she had all the living passengers except one which Sam had to get off the boat. All the remaining passengers were taken back to the Bussell’s property and were given food and shelter. By Steph and Sylvia.
