  2. The Grand Canyon has many layers of rock this includes hardened dirt, limestone, and sandstone.

  3. People have lived in the Grand Canyon for more than 10,000 years. Back in the 1800s, miners came to the Grand Canyon • They found minerals like copper and a gray mineral called asbestos.

  4. Some of the things that helped form the Grand Canyon is ice that freezes between the rocks. It makes the rocks break apart.

  5. The Grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado River. It is still forming by pulling away many layers of dirt and rock!!! Isn't that cool that the Colorado River can do that!! It has to go really fast to do that!!
