  2. What Will Be Covered Today • Introduction to software (Microsoft FrontPage XP) • Inserting Horizontal lines and text • Basic graphics • Hyperlinks and the World Wide Web

  3. How To Begin? • Find the Microsoft FrontPage XP icon on your desktop. • Double click to open

  4. How To Start a Web Page • Click the “Center Text” button on the formatting toolbar and then choose a font that appeals to you and type “Your Name’s Web Site” • Insert a horizontal line • Go to “Insert” • Click “Horizontal Line” • Your page will look like the next slide

  5. Body Paragraphs • Find a type of text you like • Find a size you like that is easy to read • Type an introduction about yourself and why you have created the web page • Insert another Horizontal Line • View my example!

  6. How To Insert Clip Art • Click “Insert” • Move down to “Picture”, then “Clip Art” • Choose an image from the browser

  7. How Do I Edit The Picture? • Click the graphic once • To resize, click on one of the “handles” and drag until you have the size desired • To reposition in center or on the right, click the appropriate button on the Formatting Toolbar

  8. Hyperlinks And the World Wide Web • What is a Hyperlink? • A Hyperlink is activated text that leads you to a different spot on the World Wide Web • To Insert a Hyperlink: • Insert a Horizontal line • Type “Go to Yahoo” • Highlight text • Click the Hyperlink button on the Standard Toolbar

  9. Hyperlinks and the World Wide Web • Insert the address to Yahoo in the address bar on the pop-up window

  10. Hyperlinks and the World Wide Web • Click “Okay” • Your text is now hyperlinked to Yahoo.com!! • Now click the save button on the Standard Toolbar • Save the file as “index.html” • Click Okay

  11. Hooray!!! • You’ve learned your way around Microsoft FrontPage XP • You’ve learned how to insert an image • You’ve learned how to create a Hyperlink • You’ve created a simple web page!! • What’s next?????
