  • The Ancient Egyptians were the first to tame cats to protect their corn supplies.
  • There are now over 100 million cats in the World and over 100 different breeds.
  • In the UK and USA there are more cats kept as pets than dogs and 35% of households with cats have two or more.

  • Some of the bigger cats live in the wild for example lions, tigers, cheetah and panther.
  • Smaller domestic cats live in houses for example tabby and Siamese cat.
