  1. Appropriate Clothing for an Interview What do I wear to my Interview? • Clothing needs to be professional in appearance. • Clothing needs to be clean and wrinkle-free. • Clothing needs to be conservative.

How Do I Behave in an Interview? • Do not chew gum, smoke, or eat during the interview. • Try and control nervous movements. • Be pleasant in all conversation. • Remember, the interview begins • the moment you enter the work • place and ends when you leave. • Be professional and mature! • Be positive.

  3. Grooming is Very Important Good hygiene & appearance “speak for themselves!” • Dress conservatively. • Make sure your hair (beard) is cut & neatly styled. • Be conservative, use cologne and after-shave sparingly.

  4. During Your Interview, You Should... • Bring extra copies of your resume. • Wait until you are asked to be seated. • Speak in full sentences. • Keep direct eye contact. • Pay attention. • Be familiar with the business of the perspective employer. • Be early to your interview. NEVER be late!

  5. Formal Interview VersesInformal Interview Formal Interview: Usually a serious one-on-one discussion. Informal Interview: Probably a one-to-one, but generally a little more relaxed.

  7. The Follow-Up Letter It should contain: 1. Appreciation for the interviewer’s time and interest in your application. 2. A reminder that you are enthusiastic and ready to begin work. 3. Your phone number and times when you can be reached.
