  2. 13.1 Introduction • Computer vision problems often involve interpreting the information on a two-dimensional (2D) image of a three-dimensional (3D) world in order to determine the placement of the 3D objects portrayed in the image. • To do this requires understanding the perspective transformation governing the geometric way 3D information is projected onto the 2D image.
