  1. Final Grading in zzusis

  2. Basics of Final Grading • Final grading is done via a Final grade roster • Final grade rosters were created in mid November for Fall 2013 • Final grade rosters are dynamic – once created the roster will have the same students whether students add or drop/withdraw • Final grade rosters were created for every class

  3. Basics of Final Grading • Final grade rosters contain every student enrolled in the class, including those who have withdrawn (dropped after 30th day) • Students who have withdrawn will have a W grade already posted on the grade roster • All enrolled students will require a Final grade to be given • For students who are auditing a class, provide the ‘AU’ which stands for audit), using the drop-down

  4. Who Can Give Final Grades • Final grade rosters are available to any instructor assigned to the class with grading access • Grading access is provided using the ROOMS system at the point of assignment • Coordinators or other staff members that submit Final grades will need to be added as an Instructor with 0% teaching assignment and grading access

  5. Mechanics of Final Grading • Detailed step by step visual instructions for submitting Final grades can be found in zzusis at Main Menu > zzusis Training > Faculty Center > in the folder “Grading in zzusis”

  6. Mechanics of Final Grading • To submit Final grades for a class, follow these steps • Go to Faculty Center in zzusis • TAs or others may need to find the Faculty Center by going to Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule • Click on the Grade Roster icon to the left of the class you wish to grade and select Final Graderoster (not Midterm roster) from the Grade Roster Type box • Provide a grade for each student, using the drop-down, or the ‘add grade to selected students’ button, or the ‘upload grades to roster’ button (or any combination) • Click the Save button

  7. Notes on CSV File for Upload • CSV File must be in this format: • Two columns: ID# (in 9 digit format), Grade • In Excel, highlight the ID# column. Right-click and select “Format Cell”. Select “Custom”. • Enter 9 zeros (000000000) as the Type • No header row • No name, major or other columns • Mac users: Must save as ‘Windows Comma Separated file’

  8. Final Notes On Final Grading • Final Grade Rosters can be saved in any Approval Status but it is recommended that you save in “Approved’ status. • “Approved” provides a date stamp record for data collection and serves a visual confirmation that grades have been submitted. • Approval Status can be changed back to ‘Not Reviewed’ if a grade was incorrectly input. After the correct grade is entered, click the Save button • Partial entry of grades can be saved. Simply click the Save button before leaving the roster • All Final Grade Rosters will be processed on December 17 @ 5:30pm regardless of grade roster Approval Status • Zzusis will be offline from 5:30pm – 11pm for processing and posting of grades • Students will be able to view their grades in their Student Center once zzusis is back online

  9. Common Questions • Can an instructor change final grades? • Yes. Until 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 17, instructors are able to change final grades in zzusis. To change a grade, the approval status of the grade roster needs to be “Not Reviewed”. • When will grades be available in zzusis for students to view? • Once zzusis is back online at 11:01pm, December 17
