Project Background • Small, independent toy store in Buffalo, NY • Owned by David and GaetanaSchueckler • Gaetana in charge of scheduling employees every two weeks • Scheduling is currently a paper based process • Scheduling conflicts often arise • Time off requests often lost • Need for simple computer based aid to ease scheduling process

  3. Database Design • Caters to both the scheduler (Gaetana, the owner) and employees • User has access to either reports menu or form menu • Employee use • Forms to update information • Reports to view schedule • Gaetana use • Forms to schedule employees • Reports to aid scheduling process

  4. Forms • Forms allow employees to enter or update information and make time off requests • Gaetana uses forms to approve time off requests and schedule employees

  5. Reports • Reports quicken scheduling process for Gaetana • Reports give employees quick access to their schedule • Reports • Employee Days Off • Schedule By Date • Schedule By Employee • Weekly Employee Hours • Employees Per Day

  6. Conclusion • Quick access to information • Decreases likelihood of lost information • Makes scheduling process quicker • Easy to make changes • Avoid scheduling conflicts
