Some Issues for the Next Guide • Update bicycle planning based on new research • Facility selection/bikeway designation meaning/value • Guidance on retrofitting existing rights-of-way • Better lane width guidance • Use of the shared lane marking with and w/o parking • More guidance on bike lane design at intersections • Guidance on path/roadway intersection design (bollards) • Revise signalization formulas based on new research • Suitability and appropriate design of sidepaths • Urban vs. rural shared lane design issues • Bicycle parking and transit interface • Work zones and bikeway detours Others?
