  3. Teacher Testimonial According to EBR teacher, Alan Berthelot, “Technology is no longer the future... it is the present. Society is wired for convenience and the class web page is the perfect venue to allow today's teachers to stay in touch with the parents and students outside the classroom. My class web page has allowed me to extend my services outside of the classroom and into the homes of my students.

  12. Alan Berthelot Goes on to Say … Teaching is a second career for me. I spent 29 years in retail and while there I learned that you needed loss leaders to get some customers into your store. I approach my webpage the same way. I have created an inviting webpage with components that the parent and students would want to visit.

  13. I post information for both parents and students. I offer links to parents with advice from professionals on strategies they can use with a middle school students. I also pass on special notes to parents about tests, situations and other points of interest. Parents are also invited to connect with me via email so that I put them on my contact list where I keep them updated on both areas of concern and success.

  14. I entice students with educational and safe internet game sites, (my loss leaders), I also put any Power Point presentations, study guides, and handouts on the site for students to tap into, whether they just need a review or have lost the originals. My teacher site also comes in handy with students who are sick. If they are absent, they can check homework and notes pages to keep pace with class.
