Opportunities - Board • This year’s election had nearly 250 ballots cast • Reaching goal to make this a desirable position (7 candidates for 3 positions) • Third year of full three-year rotation • Board comprised of 8 members 1/3 elected annually • Group A: 3 board members • Group B: 3 board members • Group C: 2 board members • 1 Ex-officio officer

  6. Financial Stability • Enter next season in excellent financial standing • Prompt bill payment • Good position when discussing future ice needs • Keeping costs down while providing value

  7. Enrollment • New enrollment record set for CCYHA • In 2005-2006 nearly 1100 players / coaches / managers registered with USA Hockey • Early registration continues to assist us in planning for the upcoming season • Online registration coming soon • Credit card payments will be preferred

  9. Ice 2005-2006 • Used 1490 ice times – 10% additional • Ice costs • Dublin, Easton, North • 50 minutes: $200 • 60 minutes: $240 • Dispatch Ice Haus • 60 minutes: $250

General Growth • Increased fees for the first time in 3 years • Trophies for all participants • Additional & replacement goalie equipment • Players kept jerseys • New Partner Introduced – Blue Jackets Zone • Team purchases – sweaters, socks, apparel • Spirit Wear • Merchandise available for sale on site or by order • Team snack convenience program • Started to utilize the Flexxcoach program – Thank You CBJ! • New Logos • Coaches’ Apparel • Team Kits and Pucks provided to all house teams • Enhanced use of web site • Second year for Director of Operations Position • Smaller rosters for Mini-Mite & Mite = additional ice time

  12. House League Growth & Success • $550 donation to Children’s Hospital • $750 donation to Joe Rossi foundation • Introduced 1 Sting team at the house level • Pre-season parent meeting for all divisions • All head coaches were certified by Dec. 31, 2005

House Tournaments • Jamborees for Mini-Mite, Mite, and Squirt House teams • End of season tournament • Approximately 70 tournament games over 2 weekends • 2 divisions at Mite & Squirt for more opportunity and balance • Champions Crowned: • Mini-Mite Penguins • Mite Blue Jackets • Mite Maple Leafs • Squirt Red Wings • Squirt Predators • Pee Wee Flyers

Travel Team Growth & Success • First year for CCYHA to compete in Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL) • First year for Thanksgiving Tournament • Travel teams at birth years (Mite – Peewee) & 2 Bantam Teams • Larger number of Squirt and Peewee Travel • 4 teams for each division • Quebec Team – semi-finalists in “C” division • Squirt 96 – Holiday Wrapping for Holiday Wish • Peewee 94 – Collected for Salvation Army

Travel Team Success • Mite: Silver Stick Regional and Nutcracker Champs • Squirt Minor (96) AA: Ottawa Bell Cup Champs, CSHL and State tournaments runners-up • Squirt Minor (96) A: Winter Elite Classic and Nutcracker Champs, CSHL Division Champs. • Squirt Major (95) A: Sylvania Fall Faceoff, Steel City Cup Champs and Chicago Cup Champs • Squirt Major (95) AA: CCYHA Thanksgiving Cup Champs • Peewee 93: Silverstick Regional Champ • Bantam: CSHL Playoff Champs Third Year in Row CCYHA Mites go to International Silver Stick Finals

  17. Travel Team Growth & Success • Continue to use professional evaluators for the travel selection process • All teams experienced multiple full ice practices this year • Began to utilize practice skill coaches

Youth Hockey in Columbus State of Youth Hockey AAA - Key Points of the Partnership and Program • Brand new, first of its’ kind in Columbus • Joint venture with CAHA and EYHA to develop true Tier I talent in central Ohio to compete and succeed at this level • Tier I program will be run by an independent committee comprised of representatives from all three organization • There will be no path to the AAA teams through either the CCYHA or the Capitals Travel programs • CCYHA members on the committee are Rob Schriner, Mike Rose and Alex Gruszewski • CCYHA Travel and Capitals Travel programs to not register any Tier I/AAA teams • CCYHA and Capitals Travel programs will each continue to register A and AA travel teams • AAA/Tier I tryouts will be held prior to the CCYHA and Capitals A and AA tryouts for pee wee, bantam and midget • Team name TBD • Tier I requires a high degree of commitment and is not for everyone

Upcoming Season Challenges & Opportunities • Challenges Driven by Strong Growth • Rosters - finding a place for players • Coaches - continue to strive to find best coaches possible house/travel • Ice availability - growth of High School and other programs • Officiating - growing faster than the referee pool • Balance at Bantam level with High School JV Hockey • Parents: remember it's just a game
