The truth about the differences between boys and girls: • Video Link
The “real” truth about boys and girls: • They need to know that they are capable • They need to know you care • They need to know that it is okay to ask for help • They need to know that they have to power to succeed, if they have the desire and work ethic • They need to know that someone believes in them, no matter what every else may think
Learning goes beyond the classroom…and into the real world! • Critical thinking • Ask questions • Find the proof • Do it yourself, ‘cause no one else will do it for you! • Learn from every experience. • “If you build it, they will come.”
What is the big picture? • A lesson in how we can think our way to get what we really want. • Moral: “We can’t control the world, but we can control how we think about it.”
How can you be active in your child’s education? • Ask questions • Talk to teachers • Come to school events • Help them with homework (flashcards, verbal quizzes, etc…) • Don’t ever say, “not my child…”
