  1. How marijuana affects the body Marijuana, just like any other drug, be it prescription or not, will bring its own set of side effects. There are some side effects that people really enjoy, which is why they use it recreationally, and there are some that help with medical ailments and symptoms brought on by certain treatments.

  2. The thing about the side effects from marijuana is that they are certainly less harmful than some of the other drugs on the market these days; both legal and illegal. This is one of the many reasons why people try to get it decriminalized and available for those who want to use it, to use it. Nevertheless, there are a wide variety of side effects, and it really all has to do with the strain, how potent it is, and what you are looking to get out of it. Negative Effects One of the most common side effects from marijuana is dry mouth and red eyes. This is one of the side effects most people report, and generally, it just makes you a bit uncomfortable, but is otherwise harmless. Another common side effect is gives is the desire to eat. It’s called the “munchies” and it happens more times than it does not. Marijuana can increase your heart rate, and on a negative side note, it has been known to cause heart attacks in some users, though it is obviously not the case every time. It also lowers your blood pressure, so if you are someone who already suffers from lowered blood pressure, you should be aware of this side effect and maybe take precautions first. You can also suffer from dizziness, which is a reason that it is recommended not to smoke and drive, or operate heavy machinery. This is also the case for the slower reaction times that marijuana can give you.

  3. Some strains of weed can give its users paranoia or heighted anxiety. Sufferers of these conditions in their normal life should make sure to know what strains can cause these effects, because it can make their conditions worse. Positive Effects Not everything has to be negative though. There are many side effects that you can get from marijuana that are actually positive to think about and talk about. If you are suffering from terrible symptoms due to your chemotherapy, smoking marijuana is a great way of getting some parts of your life back. It can heighten your appetite again, help with the depression of being ill, cure your nausea, and take away some of the anxiety of going through the treatments in the first place. Anti-depresant Many people who suffer from depression, stress, and anxiety use marijuana for its positive side effects. They can experience a lower sense of anxiety, and if it is social anxiety, it helps to lower those walls they put up between themselves and others. For depressed users, it heightens your mood and makes you generally feel happy and better about everything. Certain strains that do not exacerbate the paranoia can actually help those that suffer from paranoia and OCD.

  4. Pain Relief People who deal with chronic pain can also benefit from the positive Side effects from marijuana & cannabis as well. It is well known that it helps with pain from headaches, fibromyalgia, and other ailments that cause pain to the users. Often, it is a last resort for some sort of pain relief, and those who have used it, tout the benefits they have received from it. People who have muscles aches frequently have also reported the positive effects from using this drug as well. Finally, there are even some users who have anorexia that have used marijuana medicinally in order to get their appetite back and make them eat again. They use it to gain back the weight they have lost with their eating disorder. While there are many drugs on the market that are used to treat many of these medical problems, and others, they bring about a lot of negative side effects. Marijuana is now being looked at, and legalized in some states, as a new medicinal treatment. It causes fewer side effects than other drugs, but on the other hand, it also gives relief for some people who have side effects from treatments or other drugs that they are on. In the end, the positive or harmless side effects users get from smoking weed far surpasses the negative ones. It is something that more doctors should look into prescribing for patients who suffer greatly from certain things. And those that take it recreationally have nothing to worry about.
