  1. Ajna Chakra Your Third Eye And The Center Point of Consciousness The third-eye chakra is also known as Ajna chakra. It is considered as the center point of consciousness, perception and intuition. Its pronouncement is like Agya chakra. It is the center point of concentration during meditation practices and during asanas. The Ajna chakra is located in the middle of the eyebrows of a person. Two physical eyes are intended to see the present and the past. The third eye is for revealing the insight into the distant future. With the help of inner vision the Ajna chakra establishes its connection into the future. Focusing on this eye motivates one to dwell beyond the earthly desires and distractions. Awakening of the Ajna chakra increases the consciousness and the person reaches a higher realm. What are the important characteristics of Ajna chakra? The color: Ajna chakra is the sixth one among the seven chakras. The balanced condition of this chakra gives freedom of expression and thought. Indigo is the color that reflects this concept. Indigo is the color of inner knowledge and wisdom. When Ajna chakra is in a balanced state, it gives clarity to all the five senses. The indigo color also represents the transfer of energies from lower chakras to higher spiritual oscillations. Imbalance of Ajna chakra: As our desire for material things increases we get disconnected from the true self. Many negative thoughts like burdens of the past, expectations, impatience etc. block our vision. We remain away from spirituality and this distance blurs our intuition resulting in an imbalance in the Ajna chakra. Other aspects like indecisiveness, lack of focus, confusion, depression etc. can manifest the Ajna chakra imbalance. Narrow mindedness and self-doubt make it difficult to reach the goal.

  2. As physical reality is prominent in the modern lifestyle, an overactive Ajna chakra is not very common. But in rare circumstances an overacting Ajna chakra can create overwhelming feelings. It can lead to psychic activities followed by paranormal experiences. This can lead to full dissociation from the world. The physical symptoms affecting the neurons can lead to problems like: •Migraine, •Headache, •Eye problems, •Insomnia, •Brain disorders •Endocrine imbalance Healing: Balancing the Ajna chakra needs high awareness and patience. A balanced state of the Ajna chakra improves the physical as well as the spiritual aspects of everyday life. It becomes easy to listen to the inner wisdom. Correct decisions are often made giving equal importance to logic and emotions. A person tends to spend more time with nature when his Ajna chakra is overactive. It is capable of calming the overwhelming energy possessed by the mind. The basic instinct of grounded feeling is activated when one tries to connect to earth. Similarly, underactive Ajna can be focused by meditating in a peaceful atmosphere. With practice one can develop and improve his skill to channelize energies. It is also good if one can maintain a journal to write down the thought patterns.

  3. Yoga practice for stimulating Ajna chakra: By opening the Ajna chakra one can improve his inner awareness and transform his life. It is not a physical practice but a spiritual one. The focus one gets while practicing yoga asanas, help to get the energy of the third eye activated helping to develop an intuitive quality. Headstand-shirshasana : Headstand is the best way for activating Ajna chakra. By practicing this asana on a daily basis one can improve the functioning of his brain and all the sensory organs. The asana is helpful in stimulating and regulating the body systems. It also helps to settle the problem related to menopause. Breathing consciously: By breathing consciously, one can activate the Anjana chakra. For this one has to sit comfortably in a meditative posture with his spine elongated. Focus all your energies on the third eye after closing both the physical eyes. While inhaling, bring your attention to it and imagine that a positive light is entering the Ajna chakra. Continue this procedure for 5-10 minutes. Seed mantra chanting: Chanting the seed mantra AUM concentrating the location of the Ajna chakra is another method to activate it. Sit in an easy meditative posture with your spine elongated. Chant the mantra in the mind slowly with full consciousness.
