Tools to Optimize Data Replication from Oracle to Snowflake

Ready-to-use data delivered to Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, and Snowflake at lightning speeds with BryteFlow data management tool. This automated tool is completely self-service, low on maintenance and requires no coding. It can integrate data from any API and legacy databases like SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, and MSQL.

  1. Tools to Optimize Data Replication from Oracle to Snowflake Oracle has been a trusted database for organizations for a long time now and is widely used to execute critical and large workloads. Then why are businesses today replicating Oracle data to Snowflake? To understand this better, it is essential to know more about Snowflake.

  2. Snowflake is a cloud-based data warehousing solution and is available as a SaaS product. Since it operates on the cloud only, there is no dependency on “big data” software or any existing database. Instead, it uses a new SQL database engine with specific functions and capabilities. Users do not have to install and configure any hardware or software since management, tuning, and maintenance issues are fully taken care of. Snowflake, therefore, eliminates hitches present in traditional data warehouse solutions.

  3. Snowflake has several benefits that make enterprises want to replicate data Oracle to Snowflake. One is that users can work easily with both structured and unstructured data in Snowflake, something that is very difficult in Oracle. Further, users can scale their workloads up or down, paying only for the resources used. Finally, and this is critical, multiple users can run multiple workloads and intricate queries on Snowflake without any performance drop or lag.

  4. There are many tools that organizations may use to replicate data Oracle to Snowflake. But to get the best results and make the process effortless, a tool with exclusive features should be selected. Here are some of the functionalities to look for. Replicate large volumes of data – The selected tool should be able to replicate terabytes of data quickly and effectively. Fully automated– A completely automated tool will not require pipelines and connectors to be set up for replication of data. The whole cycle of data transformation, data mergers, and data reconciliation will be completed through a point and click interface.  Data reconciliation – The most advanced tool will continually reconcile data between the source Oracle database and the Snowflake database in the cloud. Detailed checking of column checksum and row count in Oracle and Snowflake will be carried out.

  5. Use Changed Data Capture – In the event of some change or modifications of data at the source, the usual replication tools refresh the full data to destination data. This is a time-consuming and tedious process that has to be repeated frequently. Optimized tools to replicate data Oracle to Snowflake,on the other hand, use Changed Data Capture (CDC) to copy only the incremental changes into the Snowflake database.   Maintain data referential integrity – After the replication process is completed, it is important to know the date, time, and values that changed at the columnar level. This is known as referential integrity and the top tools will have this capability.
