Then follow the instructions on the bottle or box and clean your dishwasher. You may want to wipe it down by hand at some point after running the cycle just to remove any extra or leftover grime. If you are going to go with the do it yourself version, you will want to get white vinegar and baking soda. These are two of the best cleaning agents out there, and can do wonders for your dishwasher. Here's what you should do:  Place a dishwasher-safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher.  Set your dishwasher to the hottest water setting.  Run the dishwasher through a whole cycle.

Cleaning your dishwasher is a good idea for many reasons. It prolongs the life of the dishwasher, as it keeps lines clean, and helps reduce build up, which means a longer life. It also means cleaner dishes, and more sanitary sanitization. In other words, it gives you a cleaner clean. And who doesn't want that?
