The leitmotif of Andrea Roggi's works, metaphorically represented by the Tree of Life, both in its iconographic meaning and as a symbol of plant life, is depicted by taking inspiration from the natural surroundings of his atelier in Castiglion Fiorentino, made of century-old olive and cypress trees.

Andrea Roggi (Italian, 1962) The Roots of Our Future (details)
Through the iconography of the Tree of Life, Andrea Roggi communicates a sense of belonging to the native land. The cypress is, along with the olive tree, the other element of Roggi's Tuscan nature. The artist created a bronze sculpture of extraordinary evocative power, where two figures are fused into a single cypress trunk, to such an extent that they themselves become roots and foliage. Supporting the whole tree, they are the foundation of the high crown, as if they wanted to mark from here a new beginning for what has yet to grow.
