2 Sergey Karlov "The beauty of nature is natural"
Sergey Karlov was born June 6, 1959 in the Siberian village of Beryozovka, Krasnoyarsk region. In early childhood, the family moved to the Republic of Khakassia. In 1979 he entered the School of Applied Arts, studied artistic stone processing. After graduation, in 1983, worked as an artist and designer in the shop “Consumer goods”. While working he became interested in Florentine mosaic, to which he devoted the next fifteen years. In the team of young artists, he performed a number of easel mosaic made of natural stone, mosaic tabletops series, as well as the five monumental panels of 35 sq / m each. Mosaic can be made from different materials – stone, glass, ceramic tile, wood. Presented here mosaics is made of Salbyksky stone. Salbyksky mound – the largest archaeological monument of Khakassia, found in the “Valley of the Kings”, the Eastern Siberia. Sacred territory of Valley of the Kings is popular not only among tourists but also shamans, who perform here ritual cleansing, renewing a person’s energy. From 2002 to 2007 Sergey Karlov lived and worked in Moscow, where he studied decorative design environments for residential and office interiors, landscaping, easel and monumental mosaic of stone in mixed techniques
