Birds16

Birds are synonymous with flight, and as such are a potent symbol and embodiment of many of humanityu2019s hopes and dreams. They connote both the human and the divine spirit through their soaring freedom of movement, and their linking of earth and sky (often also water). Birds can represent our souls, or stand for wisdom and the power of thought.

  2. The sculpture of the Eagle became the emblem not only of the Pyatigorsk resort, but of the entire region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. Its author embodied in stone a mountain legend about an eagle mortally stung by a snake and finding deliverance from inevitable death in a stream of healing water on the Hot Mountain. In 1973, the composition was re-cast from bronze at the Leningrad Monumental Sculpture Plant, and installed in the same place.
