  2. Baku is located 28 metres (92 ft) below sea level, which makes it the lowest lying national capital in the world and also the largest city in the world located below sea level. It is located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, which projects into the Caspian Sea Baku Airport

  3. HeydarAliyev International Airport is located 20 km northeast of the capital Baku. The airport is the home of Azerbaijan Airlines, the national flag carrier. It is the busiest airport in Azerbaijan and of the Caucasus

  4. The airport has two terminals (northern and southern) and the Baku cargo terminal

  5. Baku Airport Foreigners or persons destitute of nationality need valid passport and a visa issued by relevant agency of the Azerbaijan Republic

  6. There is a direct express minibus route number 116 operating from the airport to Baku city centre. Service runs every 30 minutes beginning from early in the morning until late night
