  2. What To Know About Day 2 Testing There are many different types of Covid-19 tests. One of them, which you must take if you are planning to travel to the United Kingdom soon, is the day 2 test. This test is mandatory for everyone who arrives in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. You need to book and paid for the test privately. If you are in Scotland, there is an option of paying for an NHS Covid-19 PCR Test, which costs £68. Arrivals from green-list countries are supposed to take a pre-departure test (which can be a lateral flow or PCR test) as well as a rapid antigen test on or before day 3 of their arrival back into the United Kingdom. But they don’t need to quarantine on return (unless they receive a positive result on day two) or take any additional tests.
