  1. Things To Know About Day 2 Testing for UK Travelers

  2. If you plan to travel to the United Kingdom very soon, one of the requirements you are supposed to meet before being allowed to enter this country is a day 2 test. This test part of the effort to help stop or minimize the spread of the coronavirus in the country. You may have a number of questions regarding day 2 testing that you may need to clarify ahead of time. One of the things you may need to know is about the next UK travel update and what can be expected to change. Chances are you may not be asked for proof of a negative test, PLF or day 2 test booking when you arrive in the United Kingdom. According to the government, airlines are responsible for checking that passengers are following the guidance. Another thing you may need to clarify is what you would do with the results of my rapid antigen test for travel if they are negative. There is no specific guidance on reporting as this is done by laboratories, but passengers need to self-isolate for 10 days if they get a positive test result.

  3. You may also want to know if day 2 testing applies to travelers entering the United Kingdom from Ireland. Irish and British citizens traveling between the UK and Ireland don’t count as international travelers because of the Common Travel Area. At the moment, this guidance has not changed and British or Irish citizens who are traveling from Ireland into the United Kingdom are not required to fill out a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) or take a Covid-19 PCR test. But non-British and non-Irish citizens entering the United Kingdom are likely to still need a PLF and a PCR test.
