  2. The word ‘wrecking’ means to destroy. After an automobile is found to be no longer in use then it is found preferable to destroy it so that it can be brought into some other use instead of lying about in any corner of the junkyard. Called as he wrecking yard (in New Zealand, Australia and in Canadian English),as a junkyard (in American English) and as the scrapyard (in British English), this place is used by the automobile wreckers to carry out their business of dismantling the decommissioned or wrecked cars. The usable parts are also sold for being used in the other operating vehicles and those parts which are unusable, known as the scrap metal parts are sold to the companies which recycle the metals to be developed in different other metal items. Especially in the United Kingdom, these yards for the salvage of cars is called as the car wreckersand similarly the yards for motorcycle salvage are called bike yards while in Australia Wreckers is the common term that is used.
