  2. Description Fr. Deeney OCD has decades of experience as a Carmelite reflecting and contemplating the teachings of St. John of the Cross and St Tereasa of Jesus. Aloysius Deeney OCD, was the first General delegate for the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. Fr. Aloysius was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was ordained in 1974. He pursued his study in Carmelite spirituality in Avila, Spain. This book comprises his personal reflections on the works of St. John of the Cross and St Teresa of Jesus during the years 2020 when the Covid19 Pandemic was in effect and Asia and all other parts of the world were in a time of shut down. Fr. Deeney disseminated these reflections to help nurture groups of Secular Groups of Carmelites in Asia so they would not lapse into a total desert devoid of the spirituality that is practiced in monthly group meetings and are the spirit and soul of all Secular Carmelite groups. First published privately in the Philippines, a demand arose in English speaking countries amongst OCDS groups and those interested in Carmelite spirituality from the Youtube series, OCD for OCDS, on what it means to be a OCDS member in his other book Welcome to the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites based on the OCDS Constitutions and Rule of St. Albert.
