So how does FL fit in with the Hertfordshire 14-19 strategy? • Raise the Participation Age (RPA) to 17 by 2013 and to 18 by 2015 • 14-19 entitlement for all young people • Responsibility for securing learning for 16-19 year olds residents in Hertfordshire (working in a sub-regional group with Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough)

  3. So how does FL fit in with the Hertfordshire 14-19 strategy? • Strong partnership working to deliver learning and support locally • Raise aspirations, challenging stereotypes • Deliver the big picture

  4. Improve outcomes • Narrow gap • Tackle disengagement • September/January guarantee

  5. Priority to develop FL including supporting progression to level 2 and beyond • Implementation Plan – Hertfordshire’s FL Task Group • Pathfinders, E2E to FL • Build on what there is but also develop exciting ways forward
