Key Points We know change is going to occur. • How can we manage it in ways that are best for the community as a whole? • Balance long term vitality with the stability of existing neighborhoods The goal of redevelopment is to revitalize the area. • Stimulate new investment. • Cohesive with surrounding area (adjacent redevelopment) • An appropriate mix of housing for current and future residents. • Development standards to evaluate and guide future development.

  11. Community Input:Guidelines for Discussion Share the time; make sure that everyone has an opportunity to speak Be open minded and non-judgmental about what others say Listen for understanding and try to build consensus Identify constructive solutions to issues Focus on the 4 questions

  12. Community Input:Four Questions What makes the Huntington Pointe area interesting? What would you like to achieve through development? What are your concerns about development? What additional information would you like to see?

  13. Community Input:Each Group Has a facilitator to help keep the conversation going Needs to select a recorder, time-keeper, and presenter Must write the summary of discussion and "answers" on the chart Will present their answers to the full group
