Northwest ISD, in partnership with parents and the community, implements a locally developed system of evidence-based student learning and achievement measurement. This approach focuses on academic preparation, college readiness, personal growth, citizenship, and community service. The district values rigorous descriptive reporting to parents and community members, aiming to engage all students for success.

  3. Demonstrates to a larger audience that the community is an important stakeholder in the schools. Demonstrates our values in regard to educating the whole child. There is more to education than state mandated tests. A wonderful opportunity to brag about what we are already doing. Why the CBAS?

  5. “Community-Based Accountability” is: A locally developed system of evidence of student learning. A strategic and customized form of measuring student achievement. Rigorous descriptive reporting to parents and community members.

  6. “Community-Based Accountability” is not: A way to escape from standardized testing. A tool to pass judgment on individual students.
