  1. Stack-up Verification 2K Newly Improved Features: • Quick selection of Standard Parts via pull down menu lists. • Pop-ups prompt you to decide whether the extra washers selected are optional or required before modifying the main list. To calculate simply press the ‘Calculate’ button. • ‘Calculate’, ‘Reset All ‘ & ‘Large Data’ function buttons provided. The ‘Large Data’ button leads to a table where individual parts with optional description can be added to a maximum of twenty prior to being transferred to the main table. • Outputs the total Min. and Max. cases prior to nut slot travel. • Verifies and states whether the stack-up in either ‘Min. Bolt’ or ‘Max. Bolt’ cases are acceptable, require adjustment or are not acceptable. Also states whether the bolt is too short due to interference in the ‘Min. Bolt’ condition or states whether you should adjust washers due to interference in the ’Max. Bolt’ condition. i.e. If the ‘Min. Bolt’ states ‘ACCEPTABLE’ and the ‘Max. Bolt’ states ‘ADJUST’ adding optional washers would correct it.

  3. Enter required grip. If many parts have to be considered, select the ‘LARGE DATA’ button, then add all required parts to that list. Based on the grip entered, a hint of the approximate bolt length required is shown prior to the bolt selection. Example Step 1.

  4. Example Step 2.

  5. Example Step 3.

  6. Example Step 4.

  7. Example Step 5.

  8. Example Step 6.

  9. Example Step 7.

  10. Select the ‘CALCULATE’ button. Example Step 8.

  11. In this case it’s optional. Example Step 9.

  12. In this case it’s also optional. Example Step 10.

  13. All the resultant values and the output Min. & Max. cases are shown, including the acceptance verification. Result Values.

  14. There’s also an optional ‘Countersunk’ washer list for use under the bolt head when required and the thickness values are automatically entered. Option for Countersunk Washer.

  15. Final Remarks: This is a very flexible stack-up program, it allows the user to input Non-Standard values or modify calculated program values prior to the output. It calculates the standard hardware values automatically and provides guiding remarks to achieve acceptability. In conclusion, this program would be an asset to an organization that wants to: 1) Improve accuracy. 2) Improve consistency. 3) Ensure that the correct bolt length is ordered, sometimes lead time is an issue. 4) Modify values before calculating the output. 5) Save many hours on stack-ups, it would take minutes to obtain an accurate result.
