What is “evidence”? • that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground forbelief; proof. • 2.something that makes plain or clear; an indication or sign:His flushed look was visible evidence of his fever. • 3.Law . data presented to a court or jury in proof of the factsin issue and which may include the testimony of witnesses,records, documents, or objects.

  4. 4.to make evident  or clear; show clearly;  manifest:  Heevidenced his approval by promising his full  support. • 5.to support by evidence:  He evidenced his accusation withincriminating letters.

  5. Why is an evidenceimportant? • It helps prove your claim. • It serves some additional needs your audience may have. • It supports your speech by making more interesting when used effectively. • It helps listeners remember main points. • It clarify the validity of your ideas.

  6. Forms of Support: The essential components that help render our ideas understandable and believable. If a speaker can recognize the essential parts or elements in a speech or arguement , to accomplish the purpose of our speech will be much more easier.
