  4. Graphic novel versions of popular novels are good "hooks" for encouraging visual learners to read stories about characters they have met in movies or have heard their friends discuss.

  5. Many books exist in graphic and traditional novel form, encouraging students to make the jump.

  6. Graphic novels may not suit all reluctant readers. Some may not be visual learners and prefer audio books. Some may find the text too hard to follow, and may find serif fonts and traditional justification easier to read.

  7. Reluctant readers who don’t take to graphic novels may prefer books with lots of white space, large print, stories about kids they can relate to and often humourousstories.

  8. Some students never fall out of love with graphic novels. Higher fiction graphic novels) can be filled with great stories and amazing art. Many are suitable for mature students. (Some ARE graphic so beware)
