  4. 2014 Summit Outcomes The Summit confirmed the 3 priorities: common messaging, food skills and children; However, there is a priority need for an overarching policy framework at the national level; Decision not to focus on one national tool kit. Many communities have the tool kits they need.

  5. Looking ahead to 2015 • Stakeholders are ready to work in partnership in support of a national policy: The Canadian Produce Marketing Association and the Canadian Public Health Association, along with producers, retailers, food service professionals, health professionals and the leading chronic disease communities including Heart and Stroke, Canadian Cancer and Canadian Diabetes and other stakeholders, are working together to establish the framework for a national fruit and vegetable nutrition policy.

CPMA Proposal Develop a national fruit and vegetable scheme A national policy would bring alignment and cohesion to the numerous initiatives and activities that exist at the provincial/territorial and municipal/community levels as well as those of charitable, non-profit and industry organizations
