NIMT is established according to the National Metrology Development Act B.E. 2540 (1997) and was found on June 1, 1998 NIMT is an autonomous institution under Ministry of Science and Technology and is designated to be the National highest authority in scientific metrology NIMT has 2 campuses; one in Pathum-thani and the other in Bangkok Brief History NIMT’s 15th Anniversary: Next steps and new challenges

The third largest next to China and India MSTQ is the very foundation to facilitate the free flow of goods within the region, and scientific metrology is the most fundamental one How can NIMT and all other NMIs collaborate to help build up and harmonize metrology infrastructure to support free flow of goods To create larger tangible impact (III)
