  4. CHECK THE BREATHING FOR 3-5 SECONDS • LOOK • LISTEN • FEEL • IF NOT BREATHING GIVE (2) TWO BREATHS

  5. 4 • CHECK PULSE / 5-10 SEC. • ADULT & CHILD • CAROTID ARTERY

  6. INFANT • BRACHIAL ARTERY

  7. 5 • SPECIAL SITUATIONS: • MOUTH TO NOSE • OPEN MOUTH TO EXHALE • MOUTH TO STOMA

  8. 6 • ADULT • EVERY 5 SEC..

  9. CHILD • EVERY 3 SEC.

  10. INFANT • EVERY 3 SEC. • COVER MOUTH & NOSE • PUFFS OF AIR FROM CHEEKS

  11. 7 • PROPER PERFORMANCE: • BETTER SKIN TONES • CHEST RISES • BEGIN BREATHING ON THEIR OWN

  12. 8 • CONTINUE UNTIL: • SOMEONE CAN REPLACE YOU • PRONOUNCED DEAD • Doctor • Coroner • THEY START BREATHING • BECOMES UNSAFE TO ASSIST • EXHAUSTED
