Georgia Telemedicine Program Current Status • Telemedicine Network • 171 Sites • 121specialist representing 45 specialties • Sites offer: Dermatology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Cardiology, Diabetes Education, Wound Care, Pediatric sub-specialties, trauma etc.. • Utilization began in November 2005 with 19,000 encounters 2009, on target for 40,000, 2010 • Staffing, Training, Marketing is ongoing

  5. Opportunities: TeleTrauma TeleStroke Community Mental Health Service Boards FQHC’s – Community Health Centers Schools Skilled Nursing Home Facilities Corrections County Jail Child Advocacy (Child Abuse) Child/Adult Protective Services

  6. USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant • USDA funding will enable us to build upon the existing network by expanding clinic capabilities, sites and services. • Fund additional sites

  7. Other Funding Opportunities • BTOP – TeleConnect Georgia to Better Health • Provide Broadband Education, Awareness and adoption • 64 New Access Points will be added for Telemedicine and better healthcare outcomes • Equipment • Support to Schools, Medical and Health Care Providers, Community Colleges and other institutions of higher learning

Other Funding Opportunities-Continued • South East Telehealth Resource Center (SETRC) • link Southeast’s major health care educators and providers in an innovative, collaborative partnership • increase the accessibility and availability of rural and urban health providers to high quality, timely and cost effective educational programming; and • support and enhance the timeliness and cost effectiveness of patient and community health education initiatives undertaken by local health care providers and organizations.
