Your Service Obligation Contract requires that after you have successfully completed the course of instruction at the Academy and fulfill the requirements for an unlimited license as an officer in the Merchant Marine of the United States you must :

*All armed forces of the United States are currently requiring 8 years.

Renewal for continuity or a limited license is not acceptable, and does not fulfill your service obligation!

If you are found in default of your Service Obligation Contract, possible disciplinary actions include: (i) involuntary active duty in the military or (ii) reimbursement of the cost of your USMMA education.
The cost of your USMMA education is approx. $216,000.
