    2. E-COMMERCE WHAT IS BRAND E-COMMERCE? E-commerce or Electronic commerce is any form of business transaction in which the parties interact electronically rather than by physical exchanges or direct physical contact. Generally speaking, it involves a wide range of online business activities for products and services. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF E-COMMERCE? Business-to-Business This is simply defined as e-commerce between two companies. As of 2004, about 80 percent of e-commerce was strictly business-to-business. Business-to-Consumer E-commerce between companies and consumers. The consumer in this case is able to go online and provide their information for purchasing goods, services, or information. Business-to-Consumer is the second largest and the earliest form of e-commerce. Business-to-Government Generally speaking, Business-to-Government e-commerce is defined as commerce between companies and the public sector.

    3. E-COMMERCE WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF E-COMMERCE? Consumer-to-Consumer This is the commerce between private individuals or consumers and is becoming more and more popular. There are three major forms of Consumer-to-Consumer e-commerce. There are auction sites such as eBay.com, peer-to-peer systems like napster.com, and classified ad sites like craigslist.com. WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF ONLINE BUSINESS? Total retail e-commerce sales in 2008, for the United States alone, were estimated at $145 billion. E-commerce is a rapidly growing business platform. It allows users to find and purchase what they are looking for more quickly and accurately. WHAT CAN E-COMMERCE DO FOR MY COMPANY? E-commerce can serve as an equalizer among various companies. It levels the playing field by allowing companies of all sizes to reach the global market. Also, selling products solely through an online store, in many cases, can be far cheaper than conducting business through a traditional brick-and-mortar company. For instance, Amazon.com does not have a single square foot of retail floor space. Yet they have an annual sales rate well over $1 billion.

    4. E-COMMERCE WHAT CAN E-COMMERCE DO FOR MY COMPANY? E-commerce, especially the Business-to-Consumer sector, has the ability to give consumers a plethora of information about the products they are shopping for, thereby broadening consumer choices and giving them more control. It is important to maintain good descriptive information about the products and services, like how the are made or delivered, in order to give your customers the information they may desire.
