  2. With the emerging need of getting access to all the facilities and services at doorsteps, the medical sector is coping up well with the requirement. Patients and doctors are adapting to this trend quite well and things are falling at a good and steady pace. Every concept is difficult to tune in with if we are unaware of its do's and don'ts. The same is the case with 'virtual telehealth'. The concept of virtual telehealth is relatively new and it's beneficial to a great extent because the patients can get treated from the comfort of their home and do not need to step out of their places. They are treated with the help of communication done via video call or video conference, both patients and doctors are comfortable with this new technique of treatment.

  3. To keep virtual telehealth succumb to its core and maintain its value, there are certain things that doctors and patients have to keep in mind while switching to virtual health care. The set of rules and guidelines are for both and if both of them execute it well, there are high chances that this concept has been the future of the medical sector.

  4. Here are a few do's and don'ts of virtual telehealth:

  5. For Doctors: Train Your Entire Staff Yes, we understand that it is only the doctor who is going to treat the doctor or who is going to be part of the treatment. But training your entire staff is utterly important. Just think, if you have to handle an emergency, you might need your staff to inform about the emergency via video call - if the staff is not trained, they will struggle with the application used to conduct the virtual medical visit meeting or they might get very conscious to handle the video call.

  6. For Patients: Understand & Trust the Process Every hospital might have its process to facilitate virtual telehealth, so there might be a slight difference in the process followed by patients of different hospitals. A lot of times it happens that instead of checking online on the official website of the hospital, patients ask other patients about the procedure. It may happen that the patient you are asking for the procedure might have consulted a different doctor in a different hospital or he might have consulted a virtual medical visit for some more serious trouble so the process might be slightly different. So the best way is to understand the process from the hospital itself and keep patience Sometimes the process can be long or sometimes it can be short depending on the circumstances and the seriousness of the illness. Patients need to be cooperative and keep calm during the entire process.

  7. For Doctors: Keep all the necessary equipment handy We are not used to seeing doctors wearing headphones or earphones but while conducting a virtual telehealth process, if you feel there is a need to use headphones or earphones to communicate and be able to address a patient's problems easily. Also, using equipment can help you hear out clear and loud which shall help to overcome the problem. There is no harm in using a tablet or laptop or earphone to communicate properly.

  8. For Patients: Find the right corner Sometimes patients feel shy to discuss the problem in front of other people. It's completely fine! Awkwardness can be felt in anyone's presence. It's ok if you are not comfortable sharing problems in front of your spouse, family, or friends. To avoid any kind of shyness or awkward situation, it's best to find a right corner for your virtual telehealth session. So that you can discuss the problem with the doctor easily.
