  2. Biome 1. The Temperate Deciduous Forest 2. Located: Parts of The United States, Canada, Europe, parts of Russia, China, and Japan. 3. Deciduous means that tree leaves will change color, fall off, and grow back the next season. 4. The Temperate Forest has four seasons it changes into each season. Fall, winter, spring, and summer. 5. The tilt of the Earth’s axis makes the sun hit certain parts of the Earth at certain times causing the seasons.

  3. Acid Precipitation 1. Caused by pollution in the air. Mostly comes from the compounds of burning fossil fuels. 2. It kills fish and animals, destroys buildings, bridges, and statues, and harms soil and plants. 3. Carbonic, Sulfurous, and Nitric acids are all found in acid rain. 4. Parts of North America, parts of Europe, and parts of Asia are all affected by acid rain. 5. Acid rain can be in a form of rain, snow, sleet, fog or hail.

  4. Effects of Acid Rain on The Temperate Forest 1. Acid Rain could change the rainfall patterns in the Temperate Deciduous Forest. 2. Acid Rain will burn holes through the leaves of trees and eventually kill the tree. 3. Acid Rain makes it hard for some animals to adapt and reproduce.

  5. What Can People Do? 1. There are several ways to remove sulfur and nitrogen compounds from fuels or industrial emissions before they reach the atmosphere. 2. People can add lime and other products to neutralize the acidity in lakes and rivers. *Warning: these neutralizations may also have harmful side effects though.* 3. Reduce the use of fossil fuels by carpooling, walking, riding a bike, or any other method of transportation that will result in using less fossil fuels.
