  1. The Gospel According to Exodus 12

  2. Christ: Our Passover 1 Cor. 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

  3. The Passover lamb was intended for everyone (Ex. 12:3). Ex 12:3 "Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: 'On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.

  4. The Passover lamb was intended for everyone (Ex. 12:3). Without the Passover Lamb, the people were not saved. God sent Jesus, our Passover to die for us. Rom. 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  5. #1) The Passover lamb was intended for everyone (Ex. 12:3). Without the Passover Lamb, the people were not saved. God sent Jesus, our Passover to die for us. God does not want anyone to perish. Ezek. 18:23 "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? Ezek. 18:32 "For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live!"

  6. The Gospel According to Ex. 12 God sent his Son to die for you because He does not want you to perish (12:3).

  7. #2) The Passover lamb was to be without blemish, a male (12:5). Ex 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.

  8. #2) The Passover lamb was to be without blemish, a male (12:5). Jesus “…was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” – Heb. 4:15

  9. The Gospel According to Ex. 12 God sent his Son to die for you because He does not want you to perish (12:3). God cared for you so much and wanted to save you from your sins so badly that He offered His only, perfect Son.

  10. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Ex. 12:6 'Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. (NKJV)

  11. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Twilight: Signifying Ending/Beginning Foretold: Jer. 31:31-37 Fulfilled: (Matthew 26:28) "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (NKJV)

  12. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Twilight: Signifying Ending/Beginning Foretold: Jer. 31:31-37 Fulfilled: (Hebrews 9:19-23) For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you." Then likewise he…

  13. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Twilight: Signifying Ending/Beginning Foretold: Jer. 31:31-37 Fulfilled: (Hebrews 9:19-23) …sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. (NKJV)

  14. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Twilight: Signifying Ending/Beginning Foretold: Jer. 31:31-37 Fulfilled: (Colossians 2:14) having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. (NKJV)

  15. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Twilight: Signifying Ending/Beginning Foretold: Jer. 31:31-37 Fulfilled: (Hebrews 8:13) In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. (NKJV)

  16. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Covenant: (Heb.) “a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh)” (Genesis 17:12-14) "He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant. "He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. "And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."

  17. #3) The Passover lamb was to be killed at twilight (Ex. 12:6). Covenant: (Heb.) “a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh)” (Romans 2:29) but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God. (NKJV)

  18. The Gospel According to Ex. 12 God sent his Son to die for you because He does not want you to perish (12:3). God cared for you so much and wanted to save you from your sins so badly that He offered His only, perfect Son. When Jesus died, He offered new hope that was previously never available.

  19. #4) In order to be saved, the blood of the Passover lamb was necessary (Ex. 12:12-13). (Exodus 12:12-13) 'For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. 'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. (NKJV)

  20. #4) In order to be saved, the blood of the Passover lamb was necessary (Ex. 12:12-13). (Exodus 12:7) 'And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. (NKJV)

  21. #4) In order to be saved, the blood of the Passover lamb was necessary (Ex. 12:12-13). (Hebrews 10:29) Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? (NKJV)

  22. #4) In order to be saved, the blood of the Passover lamb was necessary (Ex. 12:12-13). (Romans 3:24-26) being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (NKJV)

  23. #4) In order to be saved, the blood of the Passover lamb was necessary (Ex. 12:12-13). (Romans 6:3-7) Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. (NKJV)

  24. The Gospel According to Ex. 12 You do not have that hope without the Blood of the Lamb, the Son of God!

  25. #5) This judgment was “against all the gods of Egypt” (Ex. 12:12). (Exodus 12:12) 'For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. (NKJV)

  26. #5) This judgment was “against all the gods of Egypt” (Ex. 12:12). (Revelation 21:8) "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (NKJV)

  27. The Gospel According to Ex. 12 You do not have that hope without the Blood of the Lamb, the Son of God! Judgment will come against the ungodly – those without the blood of the Lamb, the Son of God!

  28. #6) They were to partake of it in a state of readiness (Ex. 12:11) (Exodus 12:11) 'And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD'S Passover. (NKJV)

  29. #6) They were to partake of it in a state of readiness (Ex. 12:11) (Matthew 25:13) "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. (NKJV)
